Frequently asked questions

What is Rise?

Rise is a smart device and app that collects clean water produced by your air conditioner, stores it, and gives you the power to dispense it at the click of a button.

What is the source of water Rise uses?

Rise collects, stores, and distributes the water runoff from your home’s air conditioner unit. It also comes with a built-in rain filter for rain water collection.

Is the water collected safe for irrigation systems?

Yes, the water captured is safe and clean. In fact, we tested the water and found that it is considered safe for a variety of uses including irrigation, washing your car, and any other non-consumption, outdoor watering needs you may have.

Does the Rise device require a wall power outlet?

Nope. It comes equipped with a solar panel that powers all aspects of the device. No need to plug it in.

Is the water collected safe for drinking?

Not yet! While the water is safe for your plants to drink, it is not yet approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency for you or your pets to drink.

What happens when too much water enters the device?

Rise comes equipped with an overflow safety valve that allows excess water to be easily dispensed.

Where should the device be installed?

Rise should be installed near the air conditioner runoff line that comes out of your house.

How does Rise know when to deploy the water?

Rises uses sensors on the device to collect, measure, and synthesize atmospheric and forecast data to determine the best time to release the water.
